River Poddle FAS – Integrated Constructed Wetland (ICW)
Nicholas O’Dwyer have retained VESI Environmental Ltd. (VESI) to complete a preliminary design strategy for an Integrated Constructed Wetland (ICW) as part of a proposed flood alleviation Scheme for the River Poddle. The ICW is proposed for Tymon Park.
The aim of the project is to improve water quality downstream of the Park, enhance biodiversity, increase amenity value, and further attenuate flows. South Dublin County Council, working in partnership with Dublin City Council and the Office of Public Works (OPW) are in the process of completing plans for flood attenuation works. The design of the ICW will be in accordance with the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government Guidelines on Integrated Constructed Wetlands
