TYMON PARK NORTH

Embankment works have been completed with footpath reinstatement also completed. Landscaping works on the embankment are substantially complete with hedging to be planted front of the ESB Sub-Station in Q3 (July to September) 2025.

The footpath along the embankment is scheduled to be re-opened in Q3 2025.

TYMON PARK

Main Lake Area

The engineering works on the embankment are 100% complete and the landscaping element has commenced with the levelling and reseeding of impacted areas. Works are yet to be completed on safety features and footpath installations but will be re-commencing shortly, with tree planting to commence from October 2025.

Once the safety features and footpath installations are complete and the grass seeding has been given time to establish, this area will be re-opened to the public. This is currently expected to be in September 2025.

Integrated Constructed Wetland Area

The engineering works on the Integrated Constructed Wetland are 100% complete with a low level of re-planting identified as being required.

Landscaping works have recommenced along with the introduction of ecological enhancements such as a sand martin bank and a kingfisher box. Some landscaping, site signage and footpath installation works are still required to be completed, which is currently estimated to take 4-6 weeks to complete. These works are weather dependant.

Based on the above it is currently expected that access to this area of the park will re-open in mid July 2025.

The project team are striving in getting the impacted areas of Tymon Park re-opened to the public as soon as possible but unsuitable ground conditions earlier in the year have delayed the completion of landscaping and finishes works. Once these works are completed, an update will be further provided as to re-opening dates.

WHITEHALL/WAINSFORT

The works are continuing in the Wainsfort area with the required tree and vegetation removal along the riverbank in Wainsfort, at the rear of the Whitehall Rd properties and at the Badminton Centre completed in January 2025 with the flood defence works commencing in February.

Badminton Centre

The reinforced concrete defence wall has recently been completed with cladding works to commence in late June and are expected to be finished in August.

Wainsfort Weir Area

Works are ongoing at the weir with the extension to the weir walls completed in April.

Reinforced concrete works to the defence walls adjacent to the weir have commenced and are expected to be completed in early Q3 2025. Once concrete works have been completed, cladding works will commence.

The defence works in Wainsfort are expected to take a further 8 months to fully complete along with 4 months to complete the landscaping.

RAVENSDALE PARK

The flood defence works in Ravensdale Park will commence in May 2025 where access restrictions to the Northern end of the park will be put in place, with the access points at Ravensdale Drive, Ravensdale Park and Kimmage Road Lower being closed. The access from Kimmage Road Lower to Kimmage Road West will remain open during the works.

The full package of works in Ravensdale Park are expected to take 12 months to complete.

ST MARTINS DRIVE

Works are currently expected to commence here in Q1 (January to March) 2026.

We fully understand that the works have been and will be, an inconvenience but because of the works completed since May 2024 and with the flow control structure in Tymon Park coming into operation since February 2025, instant flood relief benefit has now been provided to a high number of properties from future rainfall events

We can now confirm that 45% of the flood defences on the scheme have now been installed to date.
